English Muffins – A little bit burnt
April 3, 2009 in breads
I’ve been wanting to make English muffins for so long but I’ve been scared. Why? Because they have to be cooked on the stove for awhile. And my stove doesn’t like when I have to do that. If a recipe tells me to heat to medium, I aim for medium low and things still burn. If I go for low, it’s not hot enough. Urgh.
I decided to just go for it yesterday and had my hopes high. I was going to be careful not to get the stove too high and I was going to watch them like a hawk. And I did. But they still burnt. Actually, the first batch burnt. My perfectly shaped, nicely risen ones. The second batch turned out fine except they were the rejects, the ones that I was too bored to make completely round and/or rose more on one side than the other.
They were really tasty though, as long as you can pretend they aren’t burnt. I’ll post the recipe when I finally get them right. Wish me luck!

I really, really can’t wait for the recipe…I’ve been wanting to make my own English Muffins for quite some time.
