Eep! I am so excited about these cookies! I don’t know what’s gotten into me because normally I give up on things that I can’t do well, and after my failure last weekend, I thought it would be a long time before I was ready to work with royal icing again. But yesterday it rained and we couldn’t play outside so cookies were a good time waster.
I think they turned out so cute for being only my 2nd try and I’m excited to start working on more detailed cookies soon. I will conquer the royal icing!
(I used the same recipe as last time for the cookies except I did lemon extract instead of almond. Perfection! The lemon made them so bright and fresh tasting.)

the cookies are beautiful…I have alway had an awful time with cut-out cookies and just gave up years and years ago. You make me think that I need to rethink my decision and give it a try. I have some great cookies cutters and right this moment, thinking I need to give it another try….. You make me proud young lady…
