    I’ve never understood how someone could NOT be crazy about chocolate! I often get a craving for cakes but don’t make them all the time because of the amount of work. Why do I never make a sheet cake? If its just for the kids and my husband it doesn’t need 3 layers and fancy piping! thanks for the recipe I’ll be making some sort of sheet cake soon!!

    I almost always pick vanilla over chocolate. But sheetcake? Well that’s a different story!

    Chocolate sheet cake is one of my favorites! My step mom gave me a recipe years ago and it’s a family favorite. Love it with a cold glass of milk!

    my mom has made this for years and it’s the best! i still beg her to make it for me even though i know how. the peanut butter version is just as good!

    Just checking, is ¼, 1 1/4, or just 1/4? What does the  stand for?

    I have made this cake for many years and it was called Texas Sheet Cake. I make it with cinnamon in it and no nuts. It is wonderful!

    This recipe is pretty close to the old favorite called Texas Sheet Cake … except it doesn’t have any oil – just the butter- and usually calls for buttermilk vs sour cream.
    We always add a Tbsp of cinnamon to the cake, gives it a great Mexican chocolate kick !
