IHOP at Home®
March 1, 2012 in breakfast

Breakfast at my house is usually quite an event. I do two breakfasts every morning. I know, right?! It starts before the sun comes up, when my husband usually has a protein shake or protein bar before heading off for PT. Shortly after he leaves, my dear middle child comes bounding down the stairs announcing his breakfast request. It is usually oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruit, something that doesn’t require a lot of thought on my part. Because I am basically useless before some coffee.

Part two of breakfast happens when my husband comes home from PT. After a couple hours of working out, he’s obviously starving so I typically do a big breakfast for him (and the kids eat again, too). Pancakes/waffles, a breakfast meat of some sort, and eggs are usually on our table. Sometimes he brings a friend or 2 with him – you should see the dishes that have to be done on those days! To say that my house is chaotic during second breakfast is putting it lightly. The baby is usually perched on the counter, the older boys are running circles around me, and I’ve got soldiers in every room trying to get ready for work.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was when I first heard of the IHOP at Home® Syrup. I love IHOP. Through the magic of Foursquare I know that I forced my husband to go to IHOP for breakfast on all 3 days of our move to Colorado. My love for the restaurant is pretty intense. All of the syrups are thick and syrup-y sweet and perfect on anything you would want to add syrup to. My kids are now obsessed with the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Blueberry syrup, which smells just like fresh blueberries, and I doubt they will ever be able to go back to regular syrup. The husband is equally obsessed with the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Strawberry. He was gone for a couple weeks after we got the syrup and made me promise to save the rest of it for him. And me? The Sugar Free is where it’s at! It is very different from other sugar free syrups I have tried in the past.

Since receiving our IHOP at Home Syrup, my kids have started requesting pancakes or waffles for other meals besides breakfast! I’m telling you, they are obsessed with the blueberry. Besides the usual suspects, we have also added our syrup to oatmeal, cinnamon roll dough, and even topped biscuits with it. I like the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Blueberry syrup. It has a strong taste of blueberries.
Wow, these syrups sound great, we haven’t tried any yet, but my family is always excited about syrup with our homemade pancakes and waffles! Yum!! Love your pictures btw, adorable! :-)
The strawberry and blueberry syrups sound so good and from what I’ve heard the lite tastes just as good as a full calorie version.
I’ve never tried IHOP syrups, but I’d like to try the original variety.
