One of the more important items on my 27 Before… list is finding the best sesame chicken in Colorado Springs. I got my husband hooked on it when we lived in Alabama and they had some pretty awesome Chinese places there. Since moving out here we’ve had some awful Chinese food experiences. I am hoping to find something my husband will love before he comes home so that I can skip cooking dinner even more than I already do.

I am still pretty unfamiliar with anything that’s not a chain out here so I was excited to see that the Yellow Pages app (which you can get for free on your smartphone or tablet) has a new feature that allows you to search for specific menu items. I am horrible about keeping track of menus so this is really coming in handy for me in this little project of mine. As you can see in the above photo, I searched for my husband’s beloved sesame chicken and it bought up quite a few different restaurants in the area. I tapped on China Wok which happens to be close to my house and it not only brought up the entire menu but also the prices of each dish! (Sidenote: you can also search for the lowest gas prices in your area which I am loving!)

The app gave me an option to call China Wok so I did, placed my order, and had sesame chicken in hand within 15 minutes. It was awesome. Not the chicken, definitely not the chicken… but the app. The app is awesome!

I have also been enjoying the reviews section of the YP app. It is nice to be able to see what other people have to say about a restaurant before you give it a try. Plus it is a lot of fun to write your own review either recommending a place you love or warning people to stay away from a place that you didn’t enjoy very much. There’s also a fun feature that allows you to upload photos directly from the app to a restaurant’s review page!

The app makes it really easy to find pretty much anything you could possibly want. It will even get you directions if you need them! If you don’t already have it on your phone, make sure you download it soon.  It’s really come in handy for me so far and I’m excited to use it to find the next Chinese place I’m going to try.
