Welcome to Fake Ginger!

I’m Amanda, I’m 26, and a stay-at-home mom to 3 beautiful boys and a poodle. I consider myself to be mainly a baker but I do enjoy cooking occasionally and despite what this blog will lead you to believe, we don’t have cupcakes and brownies for dinner every night. My favorite thing to bake will always be bread with cupcakes coming in a close second. Besides kitchen activities, my hobbies include hanging out with the kiddos, watching football (Saints & Vikings!) and baseball (BRAVES!), and dying my hair (a lot!).

I started blogging back in April 2007 a few months after becoming a stay at home mom. It began as a way to teach myself to cook and also a creative outlet. After a couple name and URL changes, the blog eventually became Fake Ginger which was named for both my unnaturally red hair (usually)and my extreme dislike of fresh ginger.
