Well guys.
I did that annoying thing I do a couple times a year even though I know it’s a bad idea.
Yep, I got bangs.
Whyyyy do I do this to myself?
It wasn’t even an impulsive decision. I spent HOURS on Pinterest convincing myself that bangs were a good idea. And then when I told my guy (who I love and don’t blame at all), he got excited and was all, “Like Heidi Klum bangs?!”
Yes! Make me look like Heidi Klum!
Guess what. I don’t look like Heidi Klum.
So I’ll be pushing my bangs to the side for the next 6 months. You know, until I decide to do it all over again. Because I’m an idiot.
Anyway. We got a ton of snow yesterday. The snow I’ve been waiting for! The boys and I sled until we couldn’t feel our hands and then we drank hot chocolate until we were warm enough to go back out.
It was awesome.
We also made smoothies because I’m trying to be healthier, you know. I used to drink a green smoothie every day of my life but when I started counting macros, I decided I’d rather use my carbs on Pop-Tarts.
Priorities.
But now, I’m back into smoothies and I’m always looking for a green smoothie recipe that the whole family will love. And this one is the current fave. It’s spinach, pineapple, and banana!
And the thing that makes it extra delicious: matcha powder! And matcha powder has caffeine which means it’s perfect as a breakfast smoothie!

I love green smoothies that are actually green. Too often they turn a bit brown and it freaks me out a little bit, and my kids a whole lot. I don’t mind it being bright green makes it feel so fresh and bright.

I ALWAYS think I want bangs. I’ve never actually had them before. They always look so great on others but my hairstylist sister says I probably shouldn’t. I’ll trust her :) I’ve never had a green smoothie before, this one looks fabulous, loving the matcha powder.

Oh god, I am going to the salon tomorrow, and I was going to suggest a different color or cut. Now I am rethinking it…..:) Great recipe, will give it a go!

This would do my body and my soul good right now! Oh, and I’ll happily send you every last inch of our snow…mmmkay?
Amanda @ Cookie Named Desire says
Hahahahaha…. oh my gosh, that made me laugh. I’m sure your bangs don’t look so bad though! I need to see! I always wish I could do bangs, but my face is so round that it would only make my face look even rounder!
Speaking of pop tarts, I used to eat them like a madwoman… until I realized that one packet was 400 calories. I haven’t had one in a few years, but I miss them so much. From the sound of this smoothie, I think I’d rather have this than a pop tart anyway.

I am sure you are uber cute with bangs!!! And we love those green tea frappes at Starbucks, so I know I need this green smoothie in my life. Matcha powder is going on my shopping list for sure!!!
Cate | Chez CateyLou says
I bet your bangs look cute!! This smoothie sounds like a delicious combo of flavors. I’ve never tried matcha powder, but I do love the green tea drinks from sbux, so I bet I would love it!

Hahaha, too funny! I actually was just thinking of how horrible my hair looks now that my bangs ARE growing out! I think I definitely need bangs… but I definitely don’t look like Heidi Klum either. The pop tart/green smoothie diet is a new one for me — I just might have to try it! Pinned :)
Cyndi - My Kitchen Craze says
I bet your bangs look cute!!! I do the same dang thing though. Then I think, why?!?! Love the color of this smoothie. Perfect green! Pinned.

We all make the bang mistake. I’ve been trying to teach my daughter early about this, but she insists bangs will be a good look. Maybe I’ll just make her one of these smoothies and pretend I never heard her mention bangs.

I’m sure you look cute with bangs!
But if you drink good-for-you green drinks like this one, I think your hair will grow faster… :)
LOVE green drinks with these ingredients…Yum!

Not even kidding… I have a very similar recipe for a green smoothie going up in a couple of weeks! Great minds:).

Oh girl. Your hair is gorgeous no matter what. I will go to my grave hating my birds-nest-Little-Orphan-Annie-mop. I use to pay $85 for a haircut. JUST a haircut….when we lived in Minneapolis, because my stylist was the bomb. The only one who understood super curly hair. I’ve been through FOUR stylists since returning to CA and they’re all horrible. ACK. In other news, now I want a green smoothie. AND a pop tart.

Yum! This sounds really good and healthy for you :)

oh no… now you have me thinking of my hair appointment this Friday – I told my stylist last time that I wanted a haircut. like, my hair is very long and I’m planning to cut at least 8 – 10 inches off (to donate! and because it is TOO long!). *sigh* I want to, it won’t be a big deal. right? right.
this smoothie sounds phenomenal – I love adding ginger!
Kacey @ The Cookie Writer says
Oh man, I feel you. I used to do the same thing with my long hair (now I am keeping my hair short.) Funny thing is my 5 year anniversary is coming up and I had bangs for my wedding… Good thing you have this awesome smoothie to cheer you up (but I am sure your hair looks great!)
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Yes! Every time I think bangs are a good idea – I end up regretting it! I am also probably the only person who thinks green smoothies are gorgeous. This one sounds delicious too!
Tonia says
Yummm! Green smoothies! I want to try some matcha powder in my smoothies.
