I have been looking forward to this week’s Project Pastry Queen recipe since it popped up on our schedule about a month ago. Anything with a name like that has got to be good!
The bars have a lot going on – a crust with peanuts mixed in, chopped Snickers bars, a sticky filling, a peanut butter layer, more peanuts, and finally a drizzle of chocolate. You see why I was excited?
I have to tell you that I was a little disappointed. The bars are good, don’t get me wrong, but they just seem like a bunch of layers of stuff that don’t really mesh together if you know what I mean. They all taste good together but just don’t go. My boys had no problem with them so they obviously aren’t that bad! ;)
Tara has the recipe for you if you’re interested, and make sure you check out the Project Pastry Queen page to see how everyone else did.
they look amazing! like over the top good…but ill take your word for it that they are great, just not sheer heaven. even tho they look like sheer heaven :)
Loooove the 2nd photo with the nine bars all together :D They look amazing even though the cohesiveness of the whole thing doesn’t jive. I would love to cook through a cookbook someday. I’m trying to go through as many as I can with my foodie murder mysteries and it’s so fun.
These bars look delicious! Great post!
Those look fantastic!! I love snicker’s bars.
Sorry to hear they weren’t up to par, but they look absolutely delicious! I am drawn to any sticky gooey bar dessert, so maybe I’ll try some sort of spin off of this recipe!
These look amazing. I think sometimes when we bake so many incredible things that when we have to judge one delicious dessert against another, some have to be called good and not great. However, I do love a Snickers bar, so I am thinking “good” might just be good enough for me to try! :)
Hmm. Layers of ooey gooey things? I probably wouldn’t care if they meshed well or not! Give me your gobs of calories! Bring it on! :)
whaaaa? I would think that this would be amazing. Like sit down and eat a tray amazing.
I do think the crush could probably do without peanuts in there since there is so much in everything else. at least your boys enjoyed them
