Hi guys! We’re still doing summer food, right?

I keep getting emails about back to school shopping, my kid’s school is sending me vaccination reminders, and Bath and Body Works put their fall candles out.

Did I order 7 Sweater Weather candles? Maybe. But that doesn’t mean I’m okay with us acting like fall is right around the corner. We still have months of summer!

My kids are OBSESSED with this Cole Slaw Pasta Salad. The first time I made it I was worried there were too many veggies plus, you know, raw onion isn’t something kids usually like, but they loved it. I sent my mom a video of my younger 2 literally trying to steal bites out of the mixing bowl.

Creamy Dill Cole Slaw - the best homemade cole slaw recipe! Serve as a side dish or on top of your favorite BBQ sandwich!Heeeeey guys! On our road trip home a few months ago, we discovered that my 4 year old absolutely loves coleslaw.

I don’t know that he had ever tried it before but we were at a seafood restaurant in Orange Beach and he pointed to a bowl of coleslaw on someone else’s plate and said, “I want that.” Ate the whole bowl. Asked for more.

A few days later, on our way back to Texas, we stopped at this gourmet hot dog place in Houston and he ordered the slaw. Ate all of it. Asked for mine.

He is obsessed. Who knew a 5 year old could love cabbage so much? But it is totally fine with me because it is also one of my favorite foods and really, is there a better side dish for barbecue? And you know I am all about the barbecue right now.

Ramen Noodle Salad Recipe - a fun twist on cole slaw! Perfect for summer barbecues.

Uggghhhh, Monday.

This is my last Monday of the school year though! This was the longest school year ever and I cannot wait for a summer full of ice cream, pools, and margaritas.

How was your weekend?

We haven’t had much going on recently because of all the rain. Omg, the rain! Make it stop. We need no more rain. Thankfully we haven’t had to deal with all the flooding that most of Texas is dealing with but man, it’s been a rough couple weeks.

So anyway, yesterday the sun finally came out and the kids got to spend the day outside with their friends. And the husband finally got to grill without getting soaked by rain.

I’ve been craving this Ramen Noodle Salad recently and knew it’d be perfect with some barbecue chicken. It’s basically cole slaw but with lots of crunchy stuff mixed in. Sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, and yeah, crushed ramen noodles.

It’s the perfect summer side dish for when you’re over pasta salad and you always over boil your potatoes for potato salad. Just me?
