Spiked Watermelon Lemonade - the perfect summer drink! A quick and easy lemonade with tequila!

Happy almost Friday! I’m pretty excited for the weekend because I need a vacation after my vacation! Don’t you hate that?

We’re wrapping up our summer roadtrip today with an 8 hour drive from New Orleans back to Fort Hood. And by 8 hours, I probably mean 10 because I anticipate lots of stops along the way. I see doughnuts, Happy Meals, lots of Starbucks, and probably an ice cream cone in my future. Hey, I’m gonna live it up on my last day of vacay!

To get you ready for the weekend, I’m sharing this Spiked Watermelon Lemonade! I made it last week before we left for our trip because I knew I needed to cut the grass but I didn’t actually know how to cut the grass. Yes, I know that’s ridiculous.

I knew some lemonade would help. I knew a spiked lemonade would really help.

I’m obsessed with all things watermelon this year (every year, really) and this was so perfect. You know that watermelon lemonade candle from Bath and Body Works that you currently have 7 of? Just me? Anyway, this tastes like that smells. But better.

Because tequila. Duh.

And now we talk wine. Because it’s Friday! And I’m currently roadtripping with all 3 kids and a cockapoo. I’m almost positive that by the time this post goes live, I’ll be wishing that I was at the pool with a glass of wine in my hand.

(The husky was boarded. Because she sings in the car. And I couldn’t handle that for 19 hours.)

CK Mondavi recently sent me what may be the greatest box of goodies I’ve ever received. It was wine. All wine.

Sarasota Lemonade – the perfect summer cocktail! Pink lemonade with white wine, 7Up, and strawberries!

Sarasota Lemonade - the perfect summer cocktail! Pink lemonade with white wine, 7Up, and strawberries!

My kid’s last day of school is tomorrow.

How crazy is that?

It’s really hard to believe that summer is so close considering we just had snow 3 weeks ago!

Well since Memorial Day is only days away and since that pretty much signifies the beginning of grilling/picnic/pool season, Nicole and I decided to do a drink along those lines.

Sarasota Lemonade - the perfect summer cocktail! Pink lemonade with white wine, 7Up, and strawberries!

Sarasota Lemonade!

I made this Sarasota Lemonade because what says summer more than lemonade?

I’m not really sure the origins of the name of this recipe but it’s definitely delicious. It’s sweet Moscato wine mixed with pink lemonade and 7Up.

It’s sweet and bubbly and everything I look for in a drink. I love using frozen fruit in drinks like this because it keeps them nice and cold but doesn’t water them down.

Nicole made Red, White, and Blue Sangria – perfect for your Memorial Day barbecue!

I know, I’m a day early again this week. I really didn’t think that whole Frozen Friday thing through, huh?

This Lemonade Iced Tea Sorbet was the very first thing my ice cream maker ever made for me. Seriously, the night I received the ice cream maker I threw the bowl in the freezer and then stood there, opening the freezer door every 5 minutes, waiting for it to freeze. I had been saving this recipe for months and was way excited to finally get to try it. And it was obviously amazing because I’m sharing it on the blog for the second time!

If you love a refreshing glass of sweet tea with lemon in the summer, this is perfect for you! It’s sweet with just a bit of lemon and you can change up the flavor by using different teas. I used a black tea with orange for this batch and it was extra delicious. I have made this a number of times and each time I stop the ice cream maker about halfway through so I can have a slushy one. I think it’s my favorite way to enjoy this recipe!
