Bacon Cheeseburger Rice

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 2/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups uncooked instant rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1/3 cup chopped pickles


  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook beef until no pink remains, breaking it up as it cooks. Add water, barbecue sauce, mustard, dried minced onion, and pepper. Bring to a boil and stir in the rice and half of the cheese. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, until the rice is cooked.
  2. Sprinkle with bacon and chopped pickles before serving.
