Sloppy Joe Fries


  • 1 28-ounce bag frozen steak fries
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • green onions cherry tomatoes, & jalapeƱos, for serving (optional)


  1. Bake the entire bag of steak fries according to package's instructions.
  2. While the fries bake, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add ground beef and chili powder. Cook the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks, until no pink remains. Drain if necessary. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add ketchup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, and water. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until slightly thickened, about 8 minutes.
  3. Portion the fries out on individual plates. Top with sloppy joe mixture, shredded cheddar cheese, toppings of choice.
