Happy Friday! It’s an even happier Friday this week because I’ve got a great giveaway for you!

    Peanut Butter Squares

    from Tate’s Bake Shop Cookbook

    • ¾ cup firmly packed dark or light brown sugar
    • 3 cups powdered sugar
    • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
    • 2 cups smooth peanut butter
    • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 tablespoon salted butter
    1. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, powdered sugar, butter, and peanut butter, and beat them with an electric mixer until they are smooth and well blended. Pat into an ungreased 15 ½ x 10 ½ x 1-inch pan. Roll the mixture flat on top with a rolling pin.
    2. Melt the chocolate chips and butter on top of a double boiler or in the microwave. Spread the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter mixture and cut into squares while the chocolate is still warm and soft.
    3. Chill the mixture for about 15 minutes and remove the squares from the pan.

Favorite holiday treat would have to be my mom’s cocoa meringues–a tradition in our family!

I can’t enter, but I just wanted to express my love for cookbooks as well! <3 A library full of them makes me salivate, haha. As for my favourite holiday treat, I love many things, but I adore good ol' fashioned Black Forest cake. The more chocolate shavings, the better! :)

I wandered over from Tastespotting as soon as I saw these delicious bars! *Swoon* I generally like more chocolate based treats but I will definitely be making these this holiday season! :)

Krumkake and Rosettes. Something about those light, crispy, fried cookies. Yum. But if we go less midwestern scandinavian and more traditional, I’m going with peanut butter blossoms, and divinity!

Wow those peanut butter squares looks amazing! I think my favorite current holiday treat has to be pistachio brittle, or peppermint bark.. it’s a complete toss up!

My favorite holiday treat are festively colorful Cranberry Chip Cookies. The tart cranberries blend nicely with the varying sweetness of chocholate and vanilla chips. Pecans(always optional) lend a satisfying crunch. And a hint of real shortening give these easy to make drop cookies a heavenly texture that keeps you reaching(and smiling) for more.
