Today I bring you a Tequila Sunrise Margarita!
Because depending on when you’re reading this, I may be channeling Dierks Bentley and getting drunk on a plane.
Just kidding. I’m waaaaaay too uptight to do something like that but I’ll be wishing I was getting drunk on a plane. Because I hate flying. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. For the same reason I don’t like movie theaters. It’s too small a space with too many people I don’t know and too few exits.
BUT! I’m heading to California for a social media thing so I’m willing to do the whole plane thing. Because I’ve never been to California! And I’m super stoked about just being there.
It’s been several years since I’ve had the chance to go away and I’ve never, ever spent a night away from the baby (who isn’t a baby). This trip just happened to be at a time when my husband could skip a few days of work which isn’t easy since, you know… Army.
Also, my husband’s never kept all 3 kids longer than, like, a grocery trip. He asked me to board Penelope (#idiothusky) because he doesn’t think he can handle her, all the kids, and Clementine. As you can imagine, having your husband admit to not being able to handle 3 days of what you did for 9 months is pretty awesome.
I’ve also been annoying my best friend with ridiculous TSA questions, as I do every time I fly since she works for an airline. I actually deleted a text before I sent it yesterday that said, “Can I bring bobby pins in my carry on? Because I’m pretty sure I could use a bobby pin as a weapon if I needed to.”
The one about the hair straightener made it through though. (Sorry Megan!)
As far as this drink, I turned the prettiest cocktail ever into a margarita! Because you know I love a margarita! It’s delicious, so pretty, and my new fave!

Boy this looks gorgeous–plus I am thinking if I drink a few of them I can just pretend I am somewhere much further south! Also–I wish they served these on the plane flights I take!

Hahaha! I hate flying too. I’m a nervous wreck the days leading up to flying. This margarita though? I could totally handle a few of these on a plane to kill the nerves, or in my kitchen…either one. Love it!

Oh, I need actual drugs to fly. Like knock-me-out-and-wake-me-when-we-land! I’ll be leaving my kiddos for 3 days in May…and it’s the first time EVER. Um, they’re 9 and 7. Hello. GULP. But, at least I’ll be driving, so that’s one less reason to medicate.
Also. Criminal you’re in Cali and the Sac crowd doesn’t get to see you!

The last time I flew the doctor prescribed me some happy pills and they worked wonders!!! If you get a chance I would love it if you linked this to Tipsy Tuesday at Grey is the New Black!

Awwwww. That is awesome that you get to get away for a few days! I’m rolling here that your husband made you board the dog. My whole attitude is kind of – ahhhh…suck it up, Sally! If I can do it, so can you. I’m starting to schedule some business trips this year, and I’m ridiculously excited. I would feel bad taking a trip just for personal reasons, but when its for “work”? Fair game! Its hard taking that time when you’re a mom. So thankful for the opportunities that blogging provides! Your cocktail looks right up my alley. Must.TRY!

I have to admit I love flying – especially when it means vacation! This is beautiful… one of my favorite cocktails. And I ALWAYS do something stupid during the TSA check…Once I was wearing a corset so all of the alarms went nuts and I got pulled out to be patted down. Now I just wear loose tops….

I want to drink one of these right now and pretend it’s summer instead of 20 degrees out! I love margaritas too & this looks amazing. Have fun on your trip!!
