Happy Monday!
How’d your team do? What’d you cook? Should we start a petition to make the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday?
Anyway, let’s ease into the week with a cocktail, eh?
I’m obsessed with blood oranges as I am every year around this time.
Even my kids are hooked on them. I bought a bag of regular oranges last week and my littlest looked at me and said, “Where are the bloody ones?”
I’m gonna be real honest with you guys: blood oranges taste just like every orange ever and if you try to tell me that you pick up on their subtle differences, I’m gonna say you’re full of it.
So yeah, feel free to use a regular orange if you’ve stumbled upon this recipe in the middle of July. I swear it’ll taste exactly the same, just won’t be as pretty.
Anyway, this Blood Orange 75 is a twist on the classic French 75 cocktail but instead of lemon juice, you use fresh blood orange juice. Besides that, you just need gin, some orange bitters, and some chilled champagne. It’s super simple to make and so pretty, so delicious!
