Growing up, my mom always made yogurt and fruit smoothies and called them milkshakes. I swear I didn’t know the difference until I was much older.

Well as I was making these super rich and delicious chocolate malted milkshakes, I heard my oldest kid telling his brother that he’s had milkshakes before at my mom’s house and I knew that she’d tricked him too.

Weirdly enough, I’d choose a smoothie over a milkshake most days. Hopefully my mom’s tricky ways will also help the kid make the healthier choice every once in a while.

And yeah, I’m totally talking about making healthy choices right before I tell you all about this milkshake.

Nicole and I decided to make June Milkshake Month since the only thing better than an icy cocktail in summer is a delicious frozen treat. I was actually inspired by Tracey because she’s been all about the malted milk powder in the past few weeks and since tomorrow is National Chocolate Ice Cream day, I decided a chocolate malted shake sounded perfect.

I really, really, really love anything with malted milk powder (which, by the way, you should be able to find at any grocery store with the powdered chocolate milk) and this was no exception. Every sip is like a frozen Whopper.

Nicole made a S’Mores Milkshake which I will be making very soon because y’all know I get a little obsessed with s’mores this time of year.
